Why I Blog

I love to write.  When I was in 4th grade, I got a set of Judy Blume books.  I loved her writing, thought it might be something I could do too, and I’ve been hooked ever since.  Writing is a part of me; I truly think it is part of my ministry.
Lately, I’ve been really thinking about trying to grow my blog.  My dream is to be a professional writer one day.  But more than that I truly want to write for God.  I read these different blogs and part of me envy them.  I’m trying to participate in different blog hops and link ups.  I’ve created a blog planner and begin to do research.

Yesterday, I tried to write a post, just to get one my blog.  The words just wouldn’t come.  Last night, I got to thinking about my writing and I remembered why I didn’t study journalism in college; I didn’t want have a career where I stood the chance of losing my passion.  I don’t want to write just to write.  I want to write to share my faith and try to make the world a better place.  If God wants my blog to grow and go somewhere, then it will.  I’d rather have a few readers who actually read and like my stuff (or not), than have a bunch of reader and have to write and put posts on my blog that don’t have my heart fully in them.  I pray that Gods leads (and that I willing follow) me down the path that He sees fits for my writing.

Silly Saturday - Back to the original Crippled Mama

So, this week I've been really trying to blog some and I created a new blog because I haven't kept up with this one, but I'd put a lot of time and effort into this one and I didn't want to lose.  So in the end, my good friends Mr. Copy and Mrs. Paste helped me to transfer everything from my new blog back here to my old  blog.  However, I've been noticing that a lot of the blogs I  follow, the authors sometimes take long hiatuses.  So maybe I'm not to far off track either.

The Last Days of SUMMER!!!

Hard to believe, but school starts a week from Tuesday.  Bobbye Sue and I are doing our happy dance & Dalton, of course, is dragging his feet and starting to make those loud  moaning noise that cause me to halfway be concerned, but mostly be annoyed.  So, we're trying to sneak in a last few days of "FUN".  Yesterday, we went skating  with some of the  girls from Girl Scouts.  Bobbye Sue's BFF since 2nd grade is moving to Indiana in about a week, so we're trying to see her some.  God is so good...Barrett's niece,  .Kaylei, has came to live with her grandparents.  I think this will soften the blow when her friend moves.
So today, we went bowling with my BFF, Becki, and her 3 kids.  We met up with another friend and her daughter  The kids had  a blast and discovered Alex & Dalton LOVE laser tag!!!  I love that our kids are so close and get along, even though we sometimes don't get to see each other a lot.  We laugh at Alex & Dalton, they're always hesitance about getting together, but always fun when they do!
As we start this next week, we've really have to transition back to school 'mode'.  We started going to bed early last week, but this week we got to work on GETTING UP EARLY.  Barrett start his new shift this week which we allow him to be home earlier & see the kids more (YEAH!!!!!!!!).  Hopefully, I'll be able to get into a better routine myself; especially with house cleaning and healthy menu planning, & maybe even more time for blogging.  The start of school is always (still) an exciting time for me because it's fresh new star - a new year.    I can't believe I have a 7th grader & a  4th grader.  They're growing up way to fast.  I prayer that God will help be aware & gracious of the days in my little people's lives.

Shout Out To My Tech Guy

Just want to say Thank You to my son Dalton Barrett who does my blog designing.  He's a 11 and so creative.  Yes, he gets his technical abilities from Barrett not me!  I pray that God keeps enhancing this talent and that Dalton always uses it to glorify Him.
